Zedd and Katy Perry have hovered around the Billboard charts for years now. They’ve just now come together for a collaboration called “365” after being seen in the studio last August.
The German producer made appearances at a few stops during Katy Perry’s 2018 WITNESS world tour. Additionally, during an interview with Australian radio host Smallzy, Zedd stated that him and Perry have been “working.”
Zedd took to his social media accounts to share snippets of the now released music video, which showed him on a treadmill being used as a test subject. The futuristic, otherworldly video and flavor certainly isn’t a first for Katy Perry. Her music video “E.T.” with Kanye West showcased original outfits, makeup, and effects. “365” isn’t much different, as it features Katy Perry as an AI that attempts to build a relationship and connect with Zedd.
Zedd’s production style throughout this track is much different than his usual style. The track bounces on a moombahton-flavored beat. Whistling melodies slide around during the breaks and underneath Katy Perry’s vocals. “365” is a unique hybrid between electronic and commercial pop music, and Zedd and Katy Perry pulled it off superbly.
