WAVEDASH‘s unwavering experimental style has propelled them to the forefront of the bass music scene. And now they’re continuing this perpetuation with a new release called “By Any Means” on SLANDER and NGHTMRE‘s imprint Gud Vibrations.
“By Any Means” is a culmination of WAVEDASH’s most eclectic styles and visions. The trio tap into the early noughties era of UK dubstep. They also unleash their frustration and anger that they feel during their age of social media, which we all know is incredibly exhausting. The ethereal and melancholic bass allow us to get just a small glimpse into the minds of this cutting edge trio.
WAVEDASH build up this piece with a tectonic-shifting elements, including bright synths, pads, and pitched vocal chops. It seems as though the build-up lasts forever, and it does to a certain degree, but it allows for the true feeling and energy of the track to seep through. After the bright introduction, WAVEDASH open up an arpeggio that feeds into the void. This then turns into building with epic percussion underneath alongside a strong synth melody.
This Texas-based trio has been one of my favorite groups in recent years, and I’m incredibly excited to continue supporting them as well as see what they come up with in the future. Please, by any means, listen to their newest track on Gud Vibrations.
