TuneCore and Beatport have formed a new partnership to transform the next generation of electronic artists around the world.
Their partnership announcement came right before both companies’ CEOs participate in a myriad of events at this year’s International Music Summit in Ibiza. Other panelists and presenters include music producer and DJ Adam Beyer, Boiler Room founder Blaise Belville, CamelPhat, BandLab’s Head of Communications and Creator Insights Dani Deahl, and more.
The new exploratory partnership will enable artists subscribed to TuneCore’s UNLIMITED distribution plan to send their music to Beatport for a fee of $7.99 per month (billed annually). Artists who choose to distribute to Beatport will have access to their comprehensive list of electronic genre tags from independent distributors.
Robb McDaniels, Beatport’s CEO, is most excited about fostering and nurturing talent in the dance music space. This is important as musicians are focusing their efforts on building communities around themselves.
“As the number of creators around the world continues to accelerate, enabling TuneCore’s customers to easily upload their music to Beatport is an important way for us to nurture new talent in the dance music space,” McDaniels said in a press release shared with EDM In a Soda. “We’re thrilled to be working closely with Andreea and her team to help empower the next generation of DJs, producers, and artists.”
In celebration of this landmark partnership, Believe, TuneCore’s parent company, and its electronic music imprint b:electronic will launch a talent search to discover and promote burgeoning artists. Submissions will be available to TuneCore artists and accepted via the LabelRadar portal. Submissions “will be evaluated by an experienced and diverse panel of judges, consisting of producers, DJs, and industry professionals,” per the press release.
“Electronic music is a top genre among TuneCore artists,” Andreea Gleeson, TuneCore’s CEO, added. “Through this new partnership with Beatport TuneCore is excited to offer comprehensive distribution options for our electronic artists around the world, and give them access to a direct pipeline from their recording studio to the vibrant world of clubs, festivals, and radio, as well as the potential for additional promotional opportunities through Beatport’s DJ Charts and renowned editorial features.”
Beatport has become the largest resource for electronic musicians and DJs. Their seamless integrations with DJ software and hardware makes them a go-to for DJs wanting access to the most diverse catalog of dance music in the world.
