The Chainsmokers drop ‘You Owe Me,’ new song & music video

Would you accept a dinner invite from The Chainsmokers?

The Chainsmokers have most certainly tried their hands at just about every genre imaginable. Their latest blood-filled, edgy music video, titled “You Owe Me,” has an unexpected twist at the end.

While it wasn’t Friday the 13th, The Chainsmokers dropped a blood-filled music video on Friday, February 16. The accompanying music video was directed by Rory Kramer, Alex Pall, and Drew Taggart. All three make cameos throughout the video by cleaning the dreary mansion, preparing for the forthcoming vampire massacre. The track, which strays away from EDM, is much more alternative and focused on Drew’s inviting vocals.

The Chainsmokers previously released “Sick Boy” with Twenty One Pilots. That track was also a bit on the darker side, so the upbeat, emotional vibe we’ve come to recognize the EDM-pop duo by is now… uninvited?

The EDM-pop duo previously got their track “Young” remixed by k?d.

The Chainsmokers is an electronic, pop duo that consists of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall. Their breakthrough track “#Selfie,” which was released on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records back in 2014, launched their career into instant stardom. The track achieved top 20 status in several countries. They’ve won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording at the 59th annual awards ceremony. They also have won two American Music Awards and five iHeartRadio Music Awards. In April of 2017, they released their debut studio album Memories…Do Not Open.
