After a two year hiatus, Teminite has returned with a scorching new single, “Zero.”
Tapping into his roots, Teminite pulls the drawstring for the route down nostalgia lane. The classically trained songwriter, producer, and DJ packs “Zero” full of chiptune-styled melodies and sound design, while also maintaining his demanding percussion and basses. At just shy of five-minutes in length, “Zero” introduces itself subtly at the beginning and allows for the melodies intricate mid-basses to carry us through to the very last beat.
Teminite, whose real name is Sam Norris, has remained fairly quiet this past year. While maybe not related to his Teminite project, he has been working on some other cool projects. On February 4, he posted a video to his Facebook page requesting his “Temination” to vote for Swing’it in the Eurovision contest. He added that he wrote Swing’it’s track, “Prohibition.”
The Leeds, UK-based producer’s last official release, according to his Spotify, was in November 2021. Prior to that, he released a collaboration with MDK on “Space Invaders,” Whales on “Mayhem,” and his sophomore album Uprising in 2018.
If “Zero” was the match strike to light the fuse for new music, then it’s time we begin preparing ourselves for a show.
