Kygo‘s long-awaited remix of Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney’s “Say Say Say” is finally here.
Norwegian tropical house super-producer Kygo has never shied away from remixing hits that revolutionized pop culture. This remix pulls from McCartney’s “Pipes Of Peace” and pairs it with a summer tropical house staple sound.
“I’m absolutely honored to work on a song that was made by two of the greatest musical legends of all time,” Kygo told NME. “Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson have meant so much to me as an artist and I’ve been listening to their music since I was a kid. It’s been a dream of mine to collaborate alongside these iconic artists, and hope everyone enjoys the song as much as I do.”
“Say Say Say” marks Kygo’s first release of 2023 and follows he producer’s 2022 album, Thrill Of The Chase, which was chock-full of high profile collaborations with Sam Feldt, Dean Lewis, X Ambassadors, Lukas Graham, and more.
In 2020, singer, dancer and actress Tina Turner pulled herself out of retirement to collaborate with Kygo on “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” A month later, he followed up with a remix of Donna Summer’s 1979 hit “Hot Stuff.”
Kygo’s Palm Tree Festival will be making its debut along the shoreline in Dana Point, California. The festival is bringing along some big names as well. Ellie Goulding, a collaborator on “First Time,” Tove Lo, The Midnight, The Knocks, Two Feet, and Forester will all be performing at the one-day event.
“We are thrilled to bring the Palm Tree Music Festival experience beachside at Dana Point,” Kygo said in a statement at the time. “The tropical lifestyle isn’t just our brand, it’s a way of life, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally hit the sand with our community to start the summer season with good vibes and great music.”
