Shapeshifting Dutch music producer, DJ, and songwriter Martin Garrix has partnered with JBL to create a music academy, which will help educate emerging artists.
Garrix and JBL’s new music academy will be held at Garrix’s recently renovated STMPD RCRDS and Studios in Amsterdam, Netherlands from March 28-31, 2023. The academy will invite 40 songwriters, vocalists, producers, and musicians from around the world to participate.
The masterclasses will take a holistic approach to modern day music production, marketing, and branding. As such, Garrix will discuss various topics such as songwriting, production, mixing, mastering, public relations, branding, and more.
The music academy will also bring in a number of experts in the music industry to host specialist sessions.
“I’m super excited about this music academy,” Garrix told DJ Mag. “The focus for us at STMPD RCRDS is already on emerging talent, but thanks to this collaboration with JBL we can provide a platform to a large group of new talent from all over the world.”
Applications opened December 1, 2022, and will close on January 27, 2023. The classes will begin on March 28, 2023. To apply, you’ll need to provide three demos, a two-minute motivational video about you as an artist, and meet the submission criteria. Learn more and apply here.
Last year, Garrix officially became a global brand ambassador for JBL. Their partnership will allow them to partner on events, product launches, and various branded campaigns. JBL has been Garrix’s go-to audio brand for quite some time, according to EDM.com.
“JBL has been my go-to audio brand for a while, so I’m super excited I can now call myself a global brand ambassador,” Garrix said in a press release at the time. “I’m always surrounded by music, so to collaborate with them creatively is an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.”
