Marshmello and Lil Peep’s collaboration drops Jan. 12

Lil Peep tragically passed away from an overdose of fake Xanax pills that were laced with Fentanyl, a potent pain killer, on November 15, 2017. Peep’s fans were saddened that they’d never be able to hear his catalog of unreleased music. Marshmello, however, is changing that. The anonymous DJ and producer took to Twitter to announce that his collaboration with Lil Peep is being released on Friday, January 12.

Marshmello’s an anonymous electronic music producer and DJ. His career gained impressive traction through collaborations with artists like Omar LinX, Ookay, Jauz, and Slushii. His track “Alone” saw the Billboard Hot 100 chart back in January of 2017.

Gustav Elijah Åhr, better known by his stage name Lil Peep, is a late singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Åhr was born in Pennsylvania but grew up in Long Island, New York. His moniker Lil Peep was known for playing a revolutionary role in the “post-emo revival style of hip-hop.”

This collaboration, titled “Spotlight,” has been released.
