Major Lazer Jillionaire Walshy Fire Diplo

Major Lazer, the group that consists of Diplo, Jillionaire, and Walshy Fire will be no more after next year’s album. The group is known for their hugely successful hit “Lean On,” as well as many others. Diplo confirmed the group’s end in an interview with Complex Magazine.

In the interview Diplo states that the last album is “a bunch of stuff you haven’t heard like that we made the last ten years. Next year marks our last album, so we got a lot of stuff in between now and then.”

Major Lazer has been around for the last 10 years. They’ve seamlessly mended the modern electronic music with infectious pop music melodies. They have set a new standard for modern electronic music, and they simply can’t be replaced. Granted, each member’s careers will continue on. Furthermore, Diplo has been working on a side project with famed producer Mark Ronson called Silk City. He also has a project with Sia called LSD.

Each one of Major Lazer’s members is busy, but they’re sure to continue their legacies with their own projects. While this is most likely the end of the group, we can hope that it’s not and they’ll be back after a break.
