The same weekend powerhouse duo Kx5 released their cathartic self-titled debut album, they close out Billboard‘s THE STAGE at SXSW in Austin, Texas in a historic moment for them.
Kx5’s performance ended SXSW’s 2023 event on a high note. The super duo performed tracks from their newly released album, Kx5, but it also marked the first time they’ve performed their debut album together. They opened their set with “Alive” and kept the crowd going with melodic and progressive anthems throughout the night.
Other artists that preceded Kx5 were “Yacht Club” rapper and artist Lil Yachty, Feid, Eladio Carrión, Armani White, and Lola Brooke.
Thankfully an attendee recorded the performance and shared on YouTube. Check it out below.
The super duo have made waves in 2023 already. Late last year, they shattered records at their monumental LA Memorial Coliseum performance. 50,000 fans packed into Los Angeles’ historic coliseum, breaking the record for the largest single-day concert event headlined by an electronic artist ever in North America. This performance was part of the coliseum’s 100th anniversary celebration.
They opened the floodgates for a slew of their classic hits like “The Veld,” “Ghosts N Stuff,” and “Faxing Berlin,” the track that originally introduced Kaskade to deadmau5.
