Dance music staples EDDIE and SOFI have released a nostalgic new track and music video called “Show N Tell” on mau5trap.
“Show N Tell” comes shortly into the return of festival season, which is slated to be the strongest returns to dance music in years. The track breathes new life into the classic sounds of dance music that laid the groundwork for the golden age of EDM back in the early 2010s. The music video was produced by fellow EDM artist, No Mana.
The stunning tune takes us through a journey of nostalgia back to the early 2010s with sprinkles of deadmau5 tunes. SOFI’s demanding vocals begin immediately, with the power of the production pumping strongly underneath. Its elements are sultry and smooth and do a spectacular job complementing SOFI’s vocals throughout its entirety.
“I wanted to create music that personifies the feeling and experience of having fun, together–a road-trip with great friends, getting ready for a wild night out–the simple moments we missed over the past few years,” EDDIE says in a press release shared with EDM In A Soda.
SOFI was attracted to his booming sound and ability to create music that resonated with her.
“As an artist, it’s humbling to see the influence your work has on the next generation of creatives,” SOFI adds. “EDDIE is an extraordinary talent–I was immediately inspired by his ability to create music that speaks to me. There was a mutual respect and excitement in coming together to collaborate on this project and I’m happy to share it.”
SOFI is known for her genre-defining collaborations with deadmau5 on “Sofi Needs A Latter” and “One Trick Pony” from the 4×4=12 album. To date, she joined deadmau5 on world tours and performed alongside other EDM icons like Skrillex, Zedd, and Porter Robinson. In addition to being a highly skilled musician, SOFI is a talented dancer, choreographer, and performer and joined Britney Spears on her Circus 2009 World Tour and Avril Lavigne’s 2009 Best Damn World Tour.
EDDIE started working with mau5trap in 2017 and swiftly became a one-to-watch on the label. His notable projects include hit singles “Still Healing” and “Somewhere In Between,” as well as collaborations with heavyweights like deadmau5, Zeds Dead, ATLiens, and Blanke. In 2019, he released his “Untitled Forever” with No Mana. He and No Mana have re-joined forces in 2022 for a 15-city national tour
