Dog Blood, an experimental electronic duo consisting of Skrillex and Boys Noize, have flipped the lights off for their Turn Off the Lights EP. After teasing new music for years, Dog Blood confirmed this EP’s release back in April of this year. Fans then saw the release of “Turn Off the Lights” and their fiery CLAP BACK VOL 1 mix with the EP’s tracks sprinkled throughout. This cutting-edge EP was released on both OWSLA and Boysnoize Records.

Turn Off the Lights marks Dog Blood’s first full project since their Middle Finger Pt. 2 release back in 2013. It does, however, bring a similar flow of energy and power. “BREAK LAW” opens the EP with a bit crushed arpeggio and a wanky resonant frequency. Middle Eastern melodies chime into build the track into an appreciative breakbeat groove. “4 MIND,” a collaboration between Dog Blood, Josh Pan & X&G, fly in as the second track. A similar vibe as “Turn Off the Lights” flows through track. The break, however, features an incredibly groovy rhythm as the low-end pulses with a myriad of ruckus and distortion.

“KOKOE” and “TURN OFF THE LIGHTS” finish off the EP. “KOKOE,” which features Otira, bounces with a four-on-the-floor groove, distant orchestral percussion, and a sub bass that’s enough to snatch a weave clean off someone’s head. Prepare as an industrial sound clears the horizon and washes away your cares, fears, and aspirations.

This sinister four-track EP delves directly into what experimental bass music is all about. Be sure to blast anywhere and anytime you go somewhere.
