Kaskade and deadmau5‘s newly formed Kx5 project shattered records at their LA Memorial Coliseum performance on December 10, 2022, according to Pollstar.
50,000 fans packed the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, breaking the record for the largest single-day concert event headlined by an electronic artist ever in North America. The performance was part of the coliseum’s “Coliseum Forever” celebration commemorating the 100th anniversary of the legendary Los Angeles venue.

The duo’s two-hour set was flooded with original productions including “When I Talk” with Elderbrook, “Avalanche,” with James French, “Take Me High,” and “Alive” with The Moth and The Flame. The dynamic duo also interweaved a handful of their own projects’ tracks, like deadmau5’s classic “The Veld,” “Ghosts N Stuff,” and “Faxing Berlin,” the track that introduced Kaskade to deadmau5.
During their set, they performed on pods that rotated and moved around the stage. Fireworks and flames exploded and lit up the sky overhead, while 300 drones flew high above the coliseum’s iconic torch and arches. They created unique formations that included a configuration of the state of California, “Welcome LA,” and song titles like “Alive” and “Escape.”

In the summer of 2021, Kaskade made history as the first public concert performed at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. His performance featured a surprise set from deadmau5. This back-to-back show between the two dance music behemoths pushed them to start the new, record-breaking project.
