It’s always interesting to hear electronic music artists, especially pioneers like EDX, put their own spin on mainstream artists and tracks. Thankfully, EDX gave us a very deep house remix of Charlie Puth‘s “How Long.”
Subtlety and even silence is just as important in music as it is anywhere else, and EDX does an incredible job at ensuring subtlety throughout his “How Long” remix. The remix, pumped and ready for the club, fulfills every deep house fan’s fantasy with the explosive elements. Puth’s vocals, while soothing, warm, and calm, invite a specific and unique energy to EDX’s production.
Charlie Puth is a singer, songwriter, and record producer from New Jersey. His claim to fame was “See You Again,” which was written, co-produced, and performed with Wiz Khalifa for the Furious 7 soundtrack. The track was a tribute to the late Paul Walker. “See You Again” sat at No. 1 for 12 consecutive weeks in the United States.
Maurizio Colella is the deep house genius behind the EDX moniker. He’s a Swiss DJ, producer, and label owner. Currently, he’s signed to Spinnin’ Records and is the owner of Sirup Music. He’s released a slew of releases over the years, including a remixes for Kaskade, Martin Solveig, Afrojack, and more.
