Earlier this year, electronic music legend Avicii (Tim Bergling) took his own life due to mental health issues. His parents will inherit his $25 million fortune, according to Billboard.
The official Avicii website has been turned into an open-source memory board by his parents. Furthermore, they have donated his Steinway piano to a museum in Stockholm.
The “Levels” star did not leave a will, so per Swedish law, the remainder of his fortune goes to the parents after his Swedish and international tax debts have been paid. He didn’t have any children, nor was he married. Additionally, the LA Times confirmed that his Los Angeles home was sold for $17.5 million.
In 2011, Avicii founded House for Hunger, where he donated $1 million in ticket sales to Feeding America. He had a tight-knit relationship with (RED) to fight the spread of, raise awareness, and optimize health care opportunities for people living with HIV and AIDS, amongst other charity involvements.
