Apple Music Sing
PC: Apple

Apple is launching a new feature this month called Apple Music Sing on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV 4K. It will be available for Apple Music subscribers.

The new feature will allow Apple Music users to sing-a-long to “tens of millions” of songs in the catalog with real-time lyrics. Users will also be able to use various lyric views to help steal the show with the lead vocal, performing duets, singing backup, and more.

Perhaps one of the coolest features of Apple Music Sing is that users will be able to adjust the volume levels of the vocals in a song that they’re singing. They’ll be able to sing along with the original artist’s vocals, take them out and sing the lead part, or just the background vocals.

Apple says that the lyrics will animate as the song is playing so it’s easy for users to follow along.

“Apple Music’s lyrics experience is consistently one of the most popular features on our service,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats in a press release. “We already know our users all over the world love to follow along to their favorite songs, so we wanted to evolve this offering even further to enable even more engagement around music through singing. It’s really a lot of fun, our customers are going to love it.”

In addition to Sing, Apple Music will launch more than 50 dedicated companion playlists. These playlists will be chock-full of songs that music lovers around the world are listening and singing to already.

Last year, Apple Music shared 24 exclusive DJ mixes from artists like ILLENIUM, Charli XCX, and Alison Wonderland. Each artist hand-selected music that inspired them.
