3LAU has been a favorite of mine for years. This year, he set out to achieve one thing with his music, and that was to make an impact. He certainly has done that with his recent album and tour, Ultraviolet. All proceeds for the album went towards his favorite charity called F**k Cancer. Now, after Ultraviolet has found its way into hearts and headphones around the world, 3LAU has dropped a heavy drum and bass version of “Star Crossed.” This version comes shortly after he finished up is Ultraviolet tour on April 27.
The Las Vegas based producer truly shines in each production, but this drum and bass rendition of “Star Crossed” sets the bar high. The style and genre is uncommon for the producer, but he knocked it completely out of the park. Additionally, the vocals are allowed to breathe and truly shine through on this rendition. He caresses you with impeccable synth melodies, an emotional atmosphere, and stunning plucks.
Justin Blau is the genius behind the 3LAU moniker. He’s an electronic dance music producer and DJ. He’s based in Las Vegas, Nevada and has dominated the turntables at some of the most world-renowned festivals, including Electric Zoo in New York and EDC Vegas. He has no shortage of production skills within a multitude of genres, but his style most often frequents the electro house, progressive house, dubstep, and deep house genres and is well-known for immersive use of synths and samples.
